About the author

K. Shivakumar, MD, MPH, FRSPC, is an associate professor at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine, where he is also the director of the psychiatry residency program. He completed his psychiatry training at the Maudsley Hospital in London, UK, and received a Masters of Public Health from John Hopkins University. Dr. Shivakumar has been practicing psychiatry in Canada since 2007.
